INA-Industrija nafte d.d. presents SOS Children's Village Croatia with a donation

INA - Industrija nafte d.d. presented the SOS Children's Village Croatia with a donation in the excess of HRK 200.000. The donated funds will go towards supporting the work of the Hermann Gmeiner Social Center in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

The center offers various programs for children, from library, computer and internet workshops, sports activities (football, taekwondo and chess) to free structuring of leisure time through various social and board games. Children placed in SOS Children's Village Lekenik are not the only ones taking advantage of the programs; the programs are available to everyone in Lekenik, making Social Centre the hub of social life in the local community.

Marina Burazer, acting director of Ina’s Corporate Communications Sector, handed the donation to Mario Čović, director of SOS Children's Village Lekenik. “Regarding our today’s donation, I am extremely happy it will be used to help develop your talents further, and that our last year’s wonderful and very successful cooperation will be continuing this year as well. INA uses sponsorships and donations to support many worthy projects, associations and institutions, often for many years. However, cooperation with SOS Children's Village Croatia has a special place, and stands out as particular source of pride for us”, said Marina Burazer on this occasion.

In his thanks for the donation, Mario Čović said: “Children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik grow in a family environment, surrounded by attention, care and love. Our Village houses are a warm home to our children. Everyday we look towards the future together, striving for a nicer, better life. Now that the school year is ending, and we are very focused on our children’s schoolwork, we are proud to present all the extracurricular activities that enrich the everyday life of children in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. This also increases our optimism that our young people will one day be able to live as independent adults who are fully in command of their talents and skills. Thanks to our friends from INA, fulfillment of this ambition is now within our reach, and our partnership is turning into a firm and rewarding friendship.”

Before presenting the donation, we held a showcase featuring the work of Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre, i.e. the works of art created in the course of this school year and presentation of creative workshops and their accomplishments, which also served as our way to mark the end of the school year.
